Lacrosse

Did you know lacrosse is the official team sport of the state of Maryland? Register now for this fast-play game of teamwork and agility. Beginner and intermediate level players will learn the basics including stick skills (throwing, cradling, scooping, shooting) as well as offensive and defensive positioning. Requirements to bring athletic wear and tennis shoes. A limited amount of lacrosse helmets and sticks are available to borrow but you can bring your own.

Prince George’s Youth Lacrosse League (PGYLL)

Prince George’s Youth Lacrosse League (PGYLL) is a small-sided recreational league for K-8th graders (league uses boys’ lacrosse rules). League provides players with skills and training necessary to prepare them for higher-level play. Team administrators should ensure players and coaches maintain a valid US Lacrosse Membership.

*Please note: Team registration should be completed by team administrators only. Individual participants must sign-up through their area team*.

Stick-To-It Girls’ Lacrosse Program

This program provides an opportunity for girls ages 5-14 of all skill levels to gain valuable knowledge and experience through lacrosse training. Participants will receive high-level instruction in small groups, master the fundamentals of scooping, throwing, and catching, as well as learn specific offensive and defensive techniques. Game-like situations are incorporated into sessions during friendly recreational scrimmages.

This “drop-in” series is open to all skill levels but is non-competitive and educational based in an effort to grow the game in Prince George’s County.

Sticks and goggles are provided, however, players are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it. Cleats recommended for play on artificial turf.
